I have recovered from a second flu in one month. This one was quite dreadful. Now that I am less feverish and cranky, I can keep still long enough to finish hubcap sunflowers...or finish reading the last 100 pages of the Hamiltons and the Trasks in Steinbeck's East of Eden I wish will never end because I will miss them like old good friends. I remember Lee, the Trask's colorful and full of wisdom Chinese housekeeper, saying before he leaves Adam and the motherless twins-Caleb & Aron to move to San Francisco, "They say a clean cut heals soonest. There's nothing sadder to me than associations held together by nothing but the glue of postage stamps. If you can't see or hear or touch a man, it's best to let him go." Broken wings..."Take these broken wings And learn to fly again And learn to live so free..." Mr. Mister

JournalCharles: Getting to know Florentines...On Wednesday, 23.Jan. at 11 a.m., beautiful Kimberly & I start our "walking back into shape fitness hour" with a few others living here at Indigo Pointe through our Timrod Park neighborhood starting at 11 a.m. Anyone welcome to join...The Palmetto State (South Carolina) was ranked the 9th fattest state in America while its neighbors Georgia came in 17th and North Carolina 16th. The whole South ranked badly surpassed only Indiana in the Midwest...so that's gotta change. CALIFORNIA is the 12th least fattest State, Colorado #1 least fattest of all the States followed by Massachusetts #2 least fattest, Utah #3 and Hawai'i #4.
I like to write in the early morning hours before a city like Florence comes alive and not talk to anyone save my most important lover or the few ones I may be fascinated about because in the afternoon and evenings in this beautiful place I turn into the monsters I created.
This seems to happen the beginning of every new year. I take to exercise machines really hard for a couple of weeks, feel better-yes-look better-yes, feel high-higher than a kite-and then I just stop out of boredom. Perhaps, I should have a partner when I workout. With someone else there, maybe, it wouldn't be so boring on a treadmill for nearly 40 minutes or the cycle that doesn't go anywhere, the weights and my favorite part: stretching on a pink mat with a little bit of Hatha Yoga thrown in. Now that part is not boring... After two sober sessions, these two songs ("505" by Arctic Monkeys and "Lose Yourself to Dance" by Daft Punk) I play repeatedly on GooglePlay when I am on the treadmill. I believe I have listened to Arctic Monkeys' "505" more times than anyone else in the Universe. By far it is my favorite pick me up song, favorite having sex song (these days) and now to exercise as well. I've never played it with writing fiction though because for that I prefer silence. No sound at all...no social media, no telegrams or phone calls and troubled young lovers always in desperate need...except the steady beat of my fingers on the keyboard, the sound of my breath and own heartbeat. Here's to 2018!
Oh! Have added four more songs to CharlesLPearson GooglePlay for the Treadmill completion...
While somewhat stuck in the middle of a character's thoughts a peculiar emptiness tugged at my heart, then an insane rush. Probably from too much sugar after a slice of cake and so much caffeine, I spin the globe very hard.
Around and around, it turns. I close my eyes and decide where it stops is where I should holiday next. When it stops, I open my eyes to see India. Fascinating, yes. Distance between New York City and Mumbai is 7796 miles. Flight time is 15 hours and 16 minutes... Oh well, it's something to ponder as I go back to figure out what's bothering Zeno Dexter Elliott who has no interest in India and really loves only himself. I don't watch TV but did see Brandon Herring, anchor person for WBTW-TV Channel 13 Florence/Myrtle Beach, in another location this morning. WoW! Look forward to our introduction some day! B. Herring has the Best Southern accent in History next to my old pal Timmy Wells. I could hear him speak all day...and night long without ever being bored. He could even whisper and I would be moved. Just the way he pronounced: "Cough-ing..".with that accent I can't soon forget...
Plus, he's tall & goodlooking. JournalCharles: The white snow is very beautiful. I love it even when my fingers hurt from shooting pics up in the park of two teenage girls snowboarding and a family and their dog gathered on a snow-covered bridgeand the snowflakes kept coming down...harder...almost blinding and smacking me in the face. Ammie came over. I never seen her look more beautiful than today in a new leopard hat, matching gloves and scarf, and her pretty brown skin was luminous, without makeup and youthful. I kissed her because...she was so beautiful. So slender like gazelle...so wonderful to behold as my Mother...We almost finished moving everything, but then the snow came and wanted her to get back to Johnsonville, along ride away from Florence. I thought of riding with her there...but she insisted she would be OK...and that was that. I forgot to call SKA back who wanted to talk to Amime..whom he also calls mom. I have idea what they discuss... His mom, too, her fourth son, 7341 miles apart. Meanwhile, snow continues to fall in the night and all the streets and cars are covered white...
