The Peekskill Flea Market on Sunday was bustling with activity, drawing in numerous attendees eager to explore the varied offerings from vendors. The market, situated on S. James Street between Main and Park Street behind Crossroads Plaza, proved to be an ideal location. The tall trees and park-like atmosphere complemented the convenience of nearby establishments such as Valley Brook, C-Town, and Dunkin Donuts.
As I strolled through the vibrant market, the diversity of items for sale was astounding. Vendors showcased everything from new products to treasured collectibles, catering to each individual's unique tastes. While some people were content to peruse, others were actively purchasing items. Despite the pleasant weather, which saw most attendees dressed in shorts or running outfits, I overheard one vendor expressing frustration to another about the lack of sales—many people were looking but not buying. Nevertheless, my experience was delightful. I ended up purchasing a surge plug protector and a beautifully crafted decanter from an African American woman vendor, who seemed pleased with the sale. The flea market truly offered a charming and engaging setting for both buyers and sellers.
