The Mission-style burrito stands as San Francisco's enduring gift to Mexican cuisine. El Faro on Folsom Street used to craft the ideal burrito that I adored, despite the distance from my home. They also had, and perhaps still maintain, a second location on First Street at Mission in the Financial District, where I would occasionally visit with colleagues back in the day our next office meeting.
Happy Birthday, today, August 1, to Taia Cecil Lockhart, who hired me into Bank of America at Residential Lending Program Management when I was a youngster...The Lockharts became back then my California family since I spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with them as well.
